Ben & Josie
05/10/24 Manchester Art Gallery
Ben & Josie are good friends of mine and when they asked me to photograph their wedding, I was over the moon. They had booked Manchester Art Gallery for their ceremony and wedding breakfast, and they knew I had already photographed at their venue. Its an amazing venue, one I considered for my own wedding day. City centre location, venue with sophistication and style and rooms covered in Art, definitely cuts down the cost of decor.
B & J booked my Micro Package as I was also a guest to their day. I arrived at 4pm to capture Ben’s and Guest arrival, the ceremony room is a beautiful room to get married in.
When you hire MAG for your venue, you get exclusive hire from 4.30pm. So there will be nobody from the public crashing your wedding day! After B & J’s ceremony, the guests moved into one of the red rooms for welcome drinks and to greet the happy couple.
In this time you can get your couple portraits around the other rooms and staircase, privately away from your giddy guests. Like all my weddings, I photographed Ben & Josie in an authentic and natural way, showing their personality and relationship. My first aim always is to keep couples at ease!
I shot their confetti throw and the formal photos on the front steps of the venue. Great for natural light and you also get a few cheers of excitement and celebration from strangers.
After this, the guests hustled back into the gallery for speeches and a sit down meal. Which was just the start of the fun evening of brass band and dancing.
'We really wanted our pictures to be candid, full of fun and laughter and with an editorial feel. Sophie went above and beyond and we are so pleased with our photos.
Sophie is so calm and warm on the day and through email that it was the one part of my wedding I wasn’t at all stressed about!
On the day Sophie led us round the venue with no pressure on poses, she still managed to capture beautiful images.
I can’t recommend her enough!'
